Article 1 (Purpose)

  • The purpose of these regulations is to establish the procedures and criteria for the examination necessary to decide whether to publish the papers and the case interpretations (hereinafter referred to as "papers") in journals or other books published by this institute.

Article 2 (Appointment of Examiner)

  1. The Editorial Committee shall commission at least three examiners per each thesis to review the submitted theses.
  2. The committee should request the thesis examination considering the professionalism and fairness in evaluating the theses.
  3. If necessary, the Editorial Committee may appoint the experts of the field to review the thesis.
  4. The matters relevant to the thesis authors should be kept confidential.

Article 3 (Examination and Judgment)

  • The examiners shall notify the Editorial Committee of the opinions and the reasons for the examination in accordance with the following criteria.
  1. When there is no need to revise, “Publication without correction”
  2. When the thesis needs a simple fix, “Publication after correction”
  3. When the thesis needs to make a major revision, “Publication after correction and reexamination”
  4. When the thesis needs to make a full revision, “Reservation to the publication”

Article 4 (Notification of Examination Results)

  1. The Editorial Committee shall summarize the opinions of the examiners and notify the submitters of the results with the reasons.
  2. When the opinions of examiners are different from each other, a majority opinion shall be applied. However, if there is any reason to be concerned about the fairness of judgement, the Editorial Committee will make the final decision.

Article 5 (Exemption of Examination)

  • The theses written and submitted upon request of the Institute will be exempted from the examination. However, the theses should be also followed the Guidelines for Preparing Manuscripts of this institute.

Article 6 (Obligation of Confidentiality)

  • Those who are involved or have participated in the examination of the theses, etc. should maintain confidentiality with respect to the personal information of the submitter and the judge and the results of the examination.

This provision shall come into effect on January 1, 2009.
